  It's been a family tradition of ours for years to come out here for weekend breakfasts or brunches. Of all the home style breakfast places in the area, this is by far the best. Their food has been consistently great, whether you like pancakes, scrambled eggs, omelettes, a pile of pea-meal bacon, or endless coffee. Where most places have either hash browns or fried potatoes as a side, North Star has either griddle-fried par boiled potatoes, or home-fries. If they only had an eggs Benedict, they'd be unbeatable.
  
  I've never been there for anything other than breakfast...and pie. The pie is delicious, and I think it's actually worth the trip to just get a slice of pie and coffee.
  
  All that said, it's up by highway 4 and highway 7, so if you're starving and on a schedule, perhaps not the right choice for you. In a world full of either high end bistros or greasy-spoon breakfast joints, this place is a calming taste of normal.
  
  The staff are super friendly and always busy. The decor is charmingly home-style country. The building is old, but well kept. All in all, a great family breakfast place, with a scenic drive on either end.

  This has been my favorite restaurant since I was a little girl! Also a favorite for my family. Great place if you want a delicious home cooked type meal and decent price!

  The breakfast is very good. Get your potatoes ordered up crispy people, this is the secret. Prices are a bit steep here, and the menu is a little schizophrenic, but what they make, they make well. A good little diner for a quick bite.
